Sunday, the Branch President announced that we would meet at the park, and have sausages (hot dogs) and bread at 3:00 on Monday. He ask us if we would pick up the sausages and bread. I ask if we should get chips or drinks or anything, and he said no. So we got the sausages and bread, and went to the park. There was a million people there - with a celebration that had been going on all day. We called a member of the branch and ask where we were to meet - and he said he didn't know, but would be there in a few minutes. So when he got there, we drove around to the back side of the park, to a little area that was empty. We wondered how anyone would ever find us - because it's a very big park, but after a little while, members started wandering over from every direction - like a magnet was drawing them, til there were about 70 people there! A member with a van got there, and took a gas grill out, and fired it up and started cooking sausages. We had brought a jug of tomato sauce (ketchup), and some paper towels. Everyone put the sausage on a piece of bread, with some sauce, and were as happy as anything! There was a water spigot, and two plastic cups, and if you were thirsty, you got a drink! Someone had brought a rugby ball, and a volleyball, and everyone went out on the lawn and played and laughed and had the best time! The little kids played in a puddle made by the water, and a great time was had by all! We stood there in amazement! It was also a "farewell party" for Sister Wu, who finished her mission and went home to Tiawan this week. We love her so much, and will miss her.
